In Loving Memory of a Heart that Touched Us All

Rithish Kurup

1979 -2024

“Rithish Kurup, a beloved son, a devoted husband, a caring father, an inspiring colleague, a mentor, and a friend to all. Rithish’s warmth, kindness, humor, and compassion touched everyone he met. He brought light and warmth into our lives, and though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in our memories and in the countless lives he brightened.”

Rithish carried the soul of Kerala—God’s Own Country—within him, its beauty and warmth shining through in everything he did. Though his roots were in the lush landscapes of his beloved homeland, he built his life in the vibrant heart of Mumbai and Thane, where he spent most of his adult years. A true citizen of the world, Rithish journeyed across continents, embracing each culture with curiosity and leaving behind a trail of friendships and laughter. At his heart was his cherished family—his beloved wife, his bright, elder daughter, and his spirited young son. They were his pride, his joy, and the very core of his world.

Rithish was a rare soul who left a mark on everyone he met, bringing light, humor, and compassion into our lives. Always calling us his “Babu,” he had a way of making each of us feel like family. As a devoted father, loving friend, and cherished colleague, his warmth and kindness were felt deeply by all.

We invite you to honor Rithish’s memory by sharing your stories, photos, and memories so we can celebrate the joy and love he brought to our lives.

Memories with Rithish

Rithish - Its sad to say goodbye to anyone. But its beyond the point of explanation when you can't say goodbye to a person for whom you have utmost respect & affection for. Your departure is very pre-mature & sudden. I still can't think that I will not be able to ping you anymore for anything. With a heavy heart - "Rest in peace" Sir..

He is my babu. He is still with us and will be forever with his family and friends.

- Paresh Vartak

Rithish was the first person who have connected with me when i have joined LTI as a fresher. He was very supportive and encouraging.

- Vuppala Anjana

Still cannot digest the news .I have known Ritesh since 2006 when I joined as a fresher and he being a senior never made me feel a junior and was more than a colleague. One of few persons I used to interact in Malayalam and had a good rapport .
Miss you and prayers .

- Joyce Jose

Ritish was such a great human and soul. If not for him It would have been very difficult for me to continue in this company. His might and care always reflected in all he did. Ritish will always be remembered for his kind deeds, cheerful nature, and his inspiring work.

- Kashika Jain

Rithish was a man of big heart. Always approachable and kind. Out of his hectic schedules, he made sure to respond back on every little query we raised. ‘Relax’, ‘Don't worry’ were some comforting words he said so easily that we never feared sharing anything with him when in trouble. It’s a big loss losing a wonderful human like him.

- Vaishali

Whenever I visited the office, Rithish and I would always meet. He greeted everyone with a cheerful smile and consistently encouraged me on various topics and project challenges. I will truly miss his presence. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

- Amit Singh

Rithish was the first person I met after joining LTIM, and he made me feel like I had been there for years. When I once considered leaving LTIM, I spoke to Rithish first. He reassured me, saying, "Don't worry. I will handle it." There are many others like me, whom he helped. He was a huge support for all of us, someone we could always turn to with our
concerns and issues.

For the past three years, we had our annual trips to Goa with Abhishek and Almayeed. I never imagined this day would come when he wouldn’t be with us anymore.

He had back pain and received treatment in Kerala last year. He was planning to go again this year and told us, "You all should come too. I'll get my treatment, and tum log Kerala ghumo." I never visited Kerala and never thought I would come here for this reason.
It's heartbreaking.

There are lots of memories but I can't express in words. He had many dreams that sadly
went unfulfilled.

I've lost a mentor, a good friend, and a brother who always supported me. I still can't believe he's no more with us. I won't hear "Babu" or "Chal niche jate hai, chai pine" anymore.

He was a wonderful man, a devoted husband, and a loving father who always thought about his family. I pray that God gives his family the strength to get through this difficult time.

- Kashiram Jadhav

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I write this message for Rithish. He was my roommate in the US, and our time together was filled with countless cherished memories that I will hold close forever. Rithish was a rare soul, always radiating positivity and warmth, with a signature smile that could light up any room. No matter how tough things got, he never let go of that smile, and his unique way of calling everyone “Babu” made us all feel special
and loved.

His caring nature and unwavering optimism left an indelible mark on everyone he met. The void he has left is immense, and the pain of his absence is deeply felt. He touched the hearts of so many. His legacy of love, kindness, and that unforgettable smile will live on in our hearts forever.

One of Rithish’s non-work specialties was his love for cooking. His keenness in selecting grocery items could rival that of a Michelin chef. He always wanted his food to be perfect, and I can still savor the taste of his dishes.

Rest in peace, my dear brother. You will be profoundly missed, but your spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Your memory will always be a source of strength and comfort.

- Sandeep Rajput

Rithish was not just a colleague but a true friend, philosopher and guide to many. His generosity, empathy, and infectious smile made our workspace a better and brighter place. He left too early leaving behind an emptiness which can never be filled in. Wish this was just a bad dream , and he would video call on teams now with his charming smile and say "Kya hua babu.. main to mazak kar raha tha"

In Memory of Rithish Kurup.

The news of Rithish's untimely passing hit our WhatsApp group like a bolt from the blue. "Unbelievable" and "Shocking" were the most
common reactions.

It has all too common to hear about angioplasty and even heart bypass surgeries of dear friends – peers and classmates in my age group, but not someone 10 years younger! It took me all of 2 days to process and accept that we now have to refer to Rithish in the past tense.

I had the privilege of inducting Rithish in the LTIMindtree fold. He was one of the very early members of the “P&C practice” as we were known in our formative years. The team quickly grew manifold, but the early few became the ‘gang’ of sorts. I was lucky to be a part of it for nearly 10 years. Mainly due to my inertia, but in part due to the remote working era and change in my organization, I unfortunately lost touch with Rithish in past few years. I will forever regret not taking the effort to make the ‘once-in-a-while’ calls to keep in touch.

was bit shy & reserved, slow to open up and believed more in doing than showing. He was hesitant to claim credit even when it was due. Interpersonal skills were always his biggest asset, given his high emotional intelligene. In the several assignments that he did in my team, L&T Insurance being the biggest highlight, but I can’t ignore other small ones like AIG either. Once he got on the Duck Creek bandwagon post AIG, he never looked back in terms of his focus. After we made initial inroads and impression at L&T Insurance, it was only Rithish who doggedly carried the baton through the set-up of this new venture to ‘Go-Live’ and beyond.

Over time, Rithish became more of a friend than a colleague, and I had some very candid moments with him. Although it would have been nice to get to know his family & children too. My somewhat faded but fond personal memories with Rithish are mostly with Pankaj – they were 2 peas in a pod – whenever we met in Airoli office, or some evenings in Dombivli, or when he frequently visited us from Boston in Hartford.

A unique quality I found was he was always ready to make a sacrifice for you, keeping his priorities aside. Something that I would do well to imbibe as my tribute to him. The personal lesson in this tragedy is to stay in touch with past colleagues & friends, and not drift away!

I offer my deep condolences to his family and would like to be part of any undertaking in their support.

Onward and beyond, buddy!!

- Ashwin

We will miss you Ritish!
Lots of memories @ Personal & Professional, they will always remain and treasured in our hearts.

Worked very little with Rithish but known him for years being part of NC practice, he was a stalwart and legend in LTI and also in NC practice. May he rest in peace and if he would know that so many people are thinking about him would definitely make him feel proud of work he did. God be kind and take him in his good books.

- Anurag Thakrani

Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever.

Although we didn’t interact much but I do remember you asking me about my current project and I should be a part of much bigger projects. I could feel a lot of positivity by just having this conversation.

- Sowmya Anil Kumar

It's been around 4 years, I have been with LtiMindtree and I got an opportunity to work on Duck Creek technology as a part of Practice team and interact with Rithish Sir . My interactions with him might have been only a few, but he was always there for us, asking about our progress, how's the work going and not to worry during project shifts and allocations because he was there to take care.

Deeply saddened to hear about his loss. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

May you Rest in Peace Sir.

- Aniesha Razdan

- Naman Aggarwal

I met Rithish back in 2014 in my initial days of LTIMindtree i was a fresher then he came to meet seniors of my team and the memory is still fresh. He was 8-9 year senior to me but he behaved as he is same as I was.  We had 1-2 outings together and i can bet he was gem of a person, funny like hell. Though I never got opportunity to work with him but his persona of awesome. He always used to meet everyone with warmth. When i got the news on Sunday I was devasted and I am still not able to process it.

Om Shanti Rithish.

- Amit Ankit

Rithish, I would remember him as the jovial manager. All time smiling. Coming to office and seeing him wave from a distant was always a good start of the day. A good mentor, always there to give solutions. During lunch hours, sharing lunch and laughter with him, will always be etched in heart. We are always going to miss him.

Deeply shocked with the untimely demise of one of our dynamic leader in Duckcreek Practice. I fondly remember our connect few months back at kalinga where he shared his valuable insights on the future prospects in a soft-spoken yet impactful voice. My deepest condolences to his family and well wishers. Rest in peace Rithish until we meet again.

RIP Rithish..

We’re all still coming to terms on how shocking it is that a man of such talent, such capability and kindness, of such unusual intelligence should now be so suddenly spirited away at such a young age , before he’d achieved many of the things of which he was capable, and before he’d had enough fun.

I met Rithish sir back in 2021 at Airoli office. Since he was very senior to me, I was initially very formal in our conversation but when he starting talking it was so casual and it felt like he knew me from a very long time! We used to sit nearby and always had lunch together in the office canteen. Every time I would order dahi puri, he would tease me saying 'Jyada time mere samne dish mat rakh warna mai hi khaa jaunga'. During evening snacks time, he would come around our desk and share some stories of his family, his travels/adventures, all of which were mesmerizing.  He was a friend, a strong mentor, a beloved colleague and above all a very kind and humble person cherished by everybody. He truly was a gem of a person who made everybody around him feel at ease. I have seen him going out of his way to help colleagues whenever essential.

A true legend who has left behind a massive legacy.

Rest in peace Rithish sir.

From the day he joined us till he left this world he was always cheerful, making people around him joyous. He is not only a colleague but an extended family to us.  Loss of this kiddo is unbearable and still unable to accept that he is no more . He was such a caring husband and great father. Always taking about the kids exhibits how much he loved the kids as a dad.

Ritesh, will miss the bun maska and Prashanth sweets that we shared for years. Will miss the laughter and jokes we shared for years. Will miss scolding you for not taking care of your health. Will miss sharing the food whenever we met in any country. Will miss the calls with list of things to carry to US when you travelled. Will miss the shopping for your kids and wife that we used to do together. Will miss the spices you used to get for my family from Kerala. Cannot stop this list, Miss you , Miss you and Miss you...

- Hema Polamarisetty

RIthish was one of the great leader and tutor. He will be missed in professional world. May God grant strength to the family to bear the biggest loss.

“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.” “You may be gone from our sight, but you are never gone from our heart.” “It’s hard to forget you who gave us so much to remember.”  I still remember your favorite word “BABU” as you used to call everyone with this name. It was so smoothing and giving comfort. Will miss you Rithish Sir!!

Rithish_Memories01.jpg

Writing about the passing of Rithish is a task laden with pain and difficulty. The mere act of starting has taken me three attempts, as I grapple with the harsh reality of his absence. Just a day before he left us, his name surfaced in a casual conversation, and the next day, we were struck by the devastating news.

I first met Rithish three years ago during a leadership meet. He struck me as a seasoned professional, a man who spoke little but conveyed much. Although our initial interaction was minimal, it was evident that he commanded great respect within the organization.

Our paths converged more significantly when we began working together on a major, complex Duck Creek project. It was during this period that we developed a strong rapport. Over the past two years, our interactions became frequent and multifaceted. They ranged from discussing project and technical issues to delving into people management strategies, and eventually, we shared personal stories, health concerns, and random musings.
The last time I saw Rithish was a few months ago when he traveled to Pune for work. I inquired about his back pain issues, to which he reassured me that he was fine. Even now, as I write, I can vividly hear his unique and clear voice in my mind.

Rithish lived a life marked by success, both professionally and personally. The profound impact of his departure on all of us is a testament to his character and the indelible mark he left on our lives. His was a soul that touched and influenced those around him profoundly. Though he may have left this world, he continues to live on in our hearts and conversations. This is the essence of good souls—they depart, yet they remain with us, a part of our very being.

Rest in peace, Rithish. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

- Chhaya Godbole

Rithish – A great down to earth person and one among the list of Babu’s he called. Among lot of cherishing memories I hold is when he visits pune-Hinjewadi, he takes me for “Chai per Charcha” both CUTTING out the stress with the special CUTTING CHAI. One of the Duckcreek Manager reached out to me when he heard of this loss and this shows he is well known and respected within the Duckcreek company as well.
Definitely a great loss to LTIM family and a great Leader and his memory is one of treasure for everyone

Rithish, i will always remember our conversations. You are one of the first few people I spoke when I joined eLTI and made me feel welcome in insurance team. Rest in peace my friend. I have no words to express the sadness you have left behind.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Rithish. His dedication and leadership at LTIMindtree were truly inspirational. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Kavya, Sachit, and Meenal during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear about Rithish's passing. I worked with him for many years while at Duck Creek. Enjoyed his company and friendship on many occasions. Via con Dios, my friend!

- Helmut Tissler

Rithish and I worked very closely on the Old Republic account. He dedicated himself fully, especially during the challenging delivery situations in the ORES project. His tireless efforts and unwavering support were crucial in managing deliveries and meeting high customer expectations. Rithish always approached complex situations with a balanced mindset, providing effective solutions. His loss is deeply felt by all of us. Rest in peace.

- Sandeep Yawale

A man with a golden heart. Such a humble guy. I still remember when he visited our place when we were bachelors. I was down with cold and he made one of the strongest "kadha" I had ever tasted, but man, it was so effective. I have had so many moments with him which I can only cherish now. RIP my friend.

Dear Rithish, I still can't believe that you have left us. We started interacting when you landed in Canada for  Northbridge program. I really enjoyed our talk in front of the Adelaide street buildking after day long meetings . Your ability to understand all stakeholder’s perspective in meetings was simply amazing. We developed a great bond from then as we expanded our Duck Creek foot print. The Duck Creek practice has reached these heights mainly because of your selfless efforts and  never expecting any recognition. Along the way, we have had many heated arguments but we always know it is for the good reason and try to make us better.

We have shared such an unspoken bond and trust that will leave a biggest void in my life.
Your energy, ability to take care of people around you, true caring nature makes you extra special person. You had a unique way of making everyone feel valued and heard. The word 'babu' got special love because of you.  The other thing I admired was you always taking time to talk to your family even after a long day be it conference or client workshop.

The memories of our conversations and your  perspectives will always stay with me. Losing you has left a void that cannot be filled, but I am grateful for the time we had together. You were not just a colleague but a true friend. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew you. Rest in peace, my dear friend. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

You were a wonderful human being, a family man and a person who cared about the people around him. The Duck Creek practice will not be the same without you. You will be missed! RIP.

Ritesh has always been a good friend & colleague over the years. We met back in 2007 at TRV-PI.  A great domain expert at that point and had evolved into a great leader. Always there to assist, guide and help. i met him last year at Hartford, we caught up on old times.

Will miss you  dearly bud.

- Arunkumar Aruldoss

Dear Rithish,

I've lost a brother with you, and I don't think the space you've filled in my heart will ever be replaced. Since I joined LTIM in April 2017, there hasn't been a single day that I haven't spoken with you. Our partnership made a significant impact on LTIM's DuckCreek journey in every aspect. We learned so much from each other and shared a profound professional and emotional bond. I still cherish the memories of our trips to Portugal and the USA, where you would cook delicious meals for us after a hectic office schedule.

Your command over client relationships, team handling, and the insurance domain was always exceptional.

Although you are no longer with us, I will always remember you for your kind professional experience, behavior, enthusiasm, go-to attitude, and unwavering willingness to help anyone. You left us too soon, and I miss you dearly, buddy.

- Abhishek Gupta

Rithish (1).jpg

It’s hard to find the right words to express the profound impact Rithish had on all of us. He had a unique gift for seeing the potential in everyone and inspiring us to reach it. We will always remember his wisdom, and the way he made each of us feel valued and appreciated. Rest in peace, Rithish. You will always remain in our memories.

- Avipsa Dash

Rithish will always hold a special place in my heart as my first mentor at LTIM. From the very beginning, he welcomed me onboard and demonstrated immense trust in my abilities. He exemplified the power of believing in people and encouraged us to take leap of faith, knowing that we could rise to the occasion. His proactive attitude and unwavering positivity were truly inspiring, motivating those around him to strive for excellence. I feel fortunate to have crossed paths with him in the Mumbai office, where his vibrant personality shone brightest during lunch breaks. He had an unique talent for bringing everyone together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and encouraging participation from all. I cannot express enough gratitude for the opportunity to know him. Rithish, you will always be remembered! Thank you for everything!!

- Charumathi Kannan

I joined LTIM in 2020, and one of my first experiences was an in-depth conversation with Rithish during my interview. We dove into a thoughtful discussion on test automation, exploring what LTI INS BU aimed to achieve in this space. His insights and clear vision left a lasting impression
on me.

Over the years, whenever I needed guidance, Rithish was always there. He was not only approachable and supportive but also genuinely kind. No matter how busy he was, he took time to listen, offering encouragement and advice that helped me grow both professionally and personally. His smile and friendly demeanor were constants, bringing positivity and warmth to every interaction.

It’s hard to believe he is no longer with us. The news of his passing has left a void that cannot be filled. Rithish was a gem of a person—someone who touched the lives of everyone around him with compassion and understanding.

Rest in peace, Rithish. You will be deeply missed, but you will never be forgotten.

- Vipin Phogat

Remembering Rithish - as "रामबाण" of Duck creek implementations.

(रामबाण - dictionary meaning panacea, is Marathi/ Hindi word used for the ultimate solution. So if you can't get any resolution then you say find a रामबाण solution, which is like a final authority - and that was Rithish for Duck creek).

It was sometime around 8 years back, late 2016, I knew Rithish just as one of the domain guys from Nilesh's team. I was part of MMC account and we had to evaluate the Duck creek solution for Velocity product replacement for Marsh. We had few experts discussing on this topic, quite nervous on how we can do this whole work and had planned a meeting with Duck creek team. When we went for a meeting, there was this guy, Rithish, who had a complete command on Duck creek, he easily exposed the limitations of Velocity product, had a complete idea of what is feasible in Duck creek, what needed to be done and made the whole team comfortable. All the discussion was driven by him, with we providing inputs and he almost immediately suggesting how we can deliver this in Duck creek. We then followed with many meetings, and finally Marsh didn't have budget for this replacement, but liked the whole solutioning from us. I was certainly impressed with Rithish's capability and command on
Duck creek product.

While I had some casual interactions with Rithish, but major stint working with him was after taking over Fairfax account as a part of my portfolio in 2021. And that's when his real authority was understood and the kind of work he had done for Northbridge. Even client would stop arguing if team had communicated about the review with Rithish. I remember myself and Siddhartha doing many reviews for numerous team issues and if team gets stuck on any point, our natural question used to be, "did you guys review with Rithish?" and if answer was negative, we literally used to stop the review and ask the team to review the solution with Rithish, and we were rest assured that the issues will be resolved. I have hardly seen anyone with such authority and command.

He used to be a topic of discussion so many times over lunch. It was an extraordinary courage and commitment to travel overseas during Covid to address the most difficult project of a new client, and then return back and quarantine oneself in spite of having no Covid detection, to ensure avoiding slightest chance of family getting impacted. A gem of a person!!

It's just not possible to believe Rithish, that you are not with us anymore. Probably, god is stuck and needs some help in finding some solution :(.

- Ashish Shalu

It's difficult to state a single memory with such a gem of a person when you know him for more than a decade now.  One thing I will always cherish about him is his care, smile & calling "babu" and also love for food. He used to call me a food factory, whenever he felt like munching something he knew he will find some snacks in my drawers, his dialogue " chal apna khane ka  pitara khol".  Mensa campus 4th floor will never be the same without him.  He was an amazing soul.

- Soumya Pujari

The most Jolly and calm person whom I met after 12 years of my stint with LTIM but it  never felt that we were meeting for the first time. Such was the personality of Rithish.  "Babu" his patented word which brought every person close to him and made every conversation easy.. Miss you Babu !!!

- Shardul Gadgil

Missing your Smile! Missing your compassion! Missing you my dear friend, Rithish!.

Remembering those days of long casual chat, makes us feel comfortable and relaxed, nothing can replace it. The fact you're no longer here will always cause me a pain, but your memory will ever live in my heart.

You were the most amazing person, and you are always loved and never forgotten.

May your soul, Rest in Peace!

- Natarajan Ilango

I had known Rithish for only a short time, but he quickly became the reason I felt confident and secure in my job. Rithish created an environment where we felt comfortable discussing anything with him. Even if he didn't have a solution, his cheerful nature helped us navigate challenges. His presence brought positivity, energy, and a strong support system, making work feel much easier. I'll truly miss him. I've never had a leader like him.

- Pritam

This is THE biggest shock that I can recollect in the recent past. While my journey with Rithish has been very short compared to rest of our organization, I would always remember Rithish as a person with a smile, amiable person and ever ready to collaborate for the larger organization interest!

My heartfelt condolences to Rithish's family. May god grant courage and strength to near and dear!
